Biographical Note

Matthias Bixler is a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Division for Media Use and Media Effects Research at the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Research (IPMZ), University of Zurich. He studied history and sociology at the University of Trier, Germany. Since 2013 he was a Research Associate at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen, Germany. Currently, he prepares a PhD thesis on the interrelationships between adolescents’ media use and their social and communication networks.
